Playboy Pickers started out as a bunch of friends that were session musicians who liked to get together and rip old country and rock covers up at their local bar. Each were great musicians on their own, but wanted to do something that captured what they did live, together as a group. Channeling early Allman Brothers, Stones, Blind Faith, Waylon & Willie, Derek & The Dominos, and Free, Playboy Pickers stepped up and pushed forward on their “self titled Debut album”.
With flashes of Rock, Old Country, organ and guitars, keep this five piece grounded and ripping throughout their twelve-song debut record.
“They tried very hard to keep the live feel of the group in the studio, and the spontaneity and vibe of those old Stones and Willie and Waylon records.”
